Oh no, people. I'm in one of my moods where I talk a bunch of shit and nonsense about anything and anyone. So yeah, I see that today is Easter Sunday. It's the day of bunny rabbits, coloured eggs, and a diabetic's worst nightmare.... CANDY!!!! Wooooo!!! Unfortunately, I didn't get shit in the way of Easter candy this year. No Easter basket for Dave in 2005. My mom did buy me a bunch of Cadbury Creme Eggs though. I live for those damn things. Way back in '03, I wasn't exactly home for Easter. My dear Sarah was nice enough to stock up on Creme Eggs for me though, so that I'd have them to enjoy in August when I got home. She was a nice girl. Anyway, I treated myself to an Easter present today. I bought myself a DVD burner finally from the fine folks over at NewEgg.com! It should be here Tuesday or Wednesday, so I can begin backing up all of my stuff on DVDs... a.k.a. illegally copying a bunch of DVD movies! Woohoo! I mean... I'd never do anything like that. I swear... I'm just gonna use it to store stuff on... like MOVIES! Muahahaha! O:-)
Tomorrow is hugely important day, as it is the big Nine Inch Nails 'With Teeth' listening party up in Cleveland. Here's the details, muthafuckas.... NIN 'With Teeth'!!! Come and hear the new album before anyone else! Tomorrow, March 28th, at 8:00 PM at the Odeon, in C-Town. It's all ages and free for everyone. No cell phones or recording devices allowed for obvious reasons. Everyone attending this event will receive a limited edition NIN gift! Also... if you pre-purchase 'With Teeth' at this event, you will receive a limited edition 7" vinyl featuring "The Hand That Feeds" and "Home," a non-album track. "With Teeth' hits stores on May 3rd. This is gonna kick major ass! If you wanna ride up with me, catch me on AIM at prttyH8machine9 and we'll arrange something. I'll probably be leaving around 6, as I imagine there is probably gonna be a massive line to get into the Odeon.
Daddy, when I grow up, I wanna be a topless dancer so I can make lots of cash! -Dope 'Move It'
I was talking to Kera the other night about how contradictory of a person I am. First off, I am a true metalhead at heart. I live for violent, kick-ass music. I love jammin' out on my drums, bass, and keys. I love getting into the pit at concerts. I love pushing people around. I love screaming out the lyrics. I'm a goddamn psycho sometimes. The flip side, though... when most people think of my type, they picture someone with tattoos and piercings; someone that smokes (cigarettes and weed); and quite possibly even a heavy drinker. The catch? That's not me. I have no tattoos, no piercings. I don't smoke or drink, except for on special occassions. I've never touched one single drug in my entire life, a fact that I am most proud of. I have extremely short hair, another partial-oddity for a fan of metal. Even Nick, the dude I work with, has commented on it before. He says I pretty much live the lifestyle, but I just don't show it. That's the way I like it though. I don't need tattoos, piercings, or bad habits to show my lifestyle. Granted, I've thought about getting a tattoo at one point. After serious consideration, though, I decided that I really don't like the idea of having something permanently implanted on my skin. Anyway, a lot of people think that's kinda weird about me. Oh well, I like it. Kera's got tattoos and piercings. I don't know if she'd want me to go into much detail, so I won't. But she has four tattoos. None of them are big at all. I really don't see anything wrong with them. They're still not my style though. I've never really been a big fan of piercings on girls or guys. I think belly button piercings are kinda hot. Other than that and earrings though, I don't care for much else. I can't stand lip or nose piercings, really. It'd be kinda hard to kiss someone with a piece of metal sticking through their lip. And what good is a nose piercing if, say, you've got a cold? Not a good combination there.
Moving right along, I forgot about the fact that Spring began last Sunday. I'm about 98% sure that the snow is gone until next winter. Thank god! The forecast for this week looks absolutely amazing. 73 degrees on Wednesday!! Can you believe that shit?! I can't wait! And it doesn't look like the highs are gonna get below 50, which is a very good thing. I love warm weather and I can't wait for summer to get here! Speaking of summer... mark your damn calendars for July 5th, because the Sounds of the Underground Tour hits Scene Pavilion on that day! Check out this lineup of bands... Lamb of God, Clutch, Chimaira, Opeth, Poison The Well, From Autumn To Ashes, Unearth, Everytime I Die, Norma Jean, Throwdown, High On Fire, Strapping Young Lad, All That Remains, Devil Driver, and much more.... and oh yeah, how about fuckin' Gwar!!! That is one hell of a tour and blows OzzFest away! If that doesn't get your pussy wet, then I don't know what will. Speaking of OzzFest, though, it actually shaped up to be pretty decent this year. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, ?mystery band? (probably Anthrax), Shadows Fall, and Black Label Society are on the main stage. Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, The Haunted, A Dozen Furies, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, It Dies Today, Soilwork, and Trivium lineup the second stage. That tour hits Columbus on August 2nd. Sorry Cleveland, no Blossom show this year. Crazy, huh?
Look at me. I just keep yappin'. Someone needs to shut me up!!!! Kill the fuckin' enemy! Burn! Burn! Burn the motherfucker down!!! Again, a little Dope for ya' there. Well, I'm gonna end this insanity before it gets to late. Just a couple tidbits before I go... I think what's going down in Florida with that Shiavo girl is a tragedy. Her husband is holding back something and it's costing her her life.... My pick to win the NCAA basketball national championship, Arizona, lost last night. Oh well, I'll now be rooting for Louisville.... Did I mention that there's a NIN listening party at The Odeon tomorrow night? Well, there is and you best be there..... I like to research different little facts on the web from time to time. Here's a good one for ya: College student sex statistics. Enjoy and have a happy frickin' Easter!!!...
